Edo Meeting: PDP nominates Minority Chief, Minority Whip

Twenty-four hours after their removing because the Majority Chief and Chief Whip of the Edo State Home of Meeting, Charity Airobarueghian and Yekini Idaiye have emerged Minority Chief and Minority Whip of the Home, respectively.

The opposite lawmaker eliminated alongside with the duo was Natasha Osawaru Irobosa, who was changed because the Deputy Majority Chief.

Aiguobarueghian, Ovia North-East I, Irobosa, Egor and Idaiye, Akoko-Edo I, are Peoples Democratic Social gathering, PDP, lawmakers.

The trio have been changed with Ibhamawu Jonathan Aigbokhan, APC, Esan West, Addeh Emakhu Isibor, APC, Esan North-East I, and Lecky Hussein Mustapha, APC, Etsako West I, as Majority Chief, Deputy Chief and Chief Whip of the Home, respectively.

The Speaker of the Home, Blessing Agbebaku introduced the PDP’s principal officers on Tuesday at an emergency plenary sitting.

Agbebaku mentioned the duo have been nominated by the state management of the PDP.

The Speaker learn a letter dated April 8, 2025 and addressed to him by Dr Anthony Aziegbemi, chairman, caretaker committee of the Edo PDP.

Elements of the letter titled, ‘Nomination for Principal Officers’, learn, “After due session the next are nominated to fill the next positions.

“They’re Hon Charity Aiguobarueghian, Minority Chief and Hon Yekini Idaiye, the Minority Whip.”
