The Presidency has hit again at Ali Ndume, the Senator representing Borno South, following his feedback that President Bola Tinubu’s latest appointments are lopsided.
Ndume, talking on Come up TV’s Prime Time on Monday, claimed Tinubu’s appointments haven’t mirrored the range mandated by part 14(3) of the 1999 Structure.
The Borno senator described the appointments as violations of the constitutional provision for federal character.
Responding to the lawmaker’s feedback in a put up shared by way of his X deal with on Tuesday night, Onanuga described Ndume’s criticism as “hypocritical” and “selective notion.”
The Particular Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity said that the lawmaker ignored key details for political theatrics, accusing the Borno Senator of grandstanding as an ethical authority on fairness.
The presidential aide stated Ndume forgot to say throughout his interview that the president lately appointed two of his kinsmen to positions in Nigerian Nationwide Petroleum Firm Restricted.
Onanuga stated, “Senator Ali Ndume’s newest outburst on TV about so-called ‘lopsided appointments’ by President Tinubu reeks of hypocrisy and selective notion.
“Whereas the Borno senator grandstanded as an ethical authority on fairness, he forgot to inform his interviewer that two of his kinsmen featured in latest NNPC Restricted prime appointments.
“The Chairman, appointed by President Tinubu, is from Ndume’s senatorial district. If Tinubu and his surrogates’ decisions are so “tribal,” how did two of Ndume’s kinsmen clinch NNPC’s prime roles?
“As a politician, Ndume has confirmed time and time once more that he’s allergic to details and hooked on theatrics. His behavior of firing half-baked criticisms — solely to be contradicted by details — proves he’s extra concerned about headline-chasing, rabble-rousing, stoking divisive narratives than providing constructive criticism.”
