Legendary Nigerian rapper, Eedris Abdulkareem, has reacted to the Federal Authorities’s ban on his newly launched anti-Tinubu tune, Inform Your Papa.
DAILY POST stories that the FG, by way of the Nationwide Broadcasting Fee, NBC, banned the Inform Your Papa tune on Thursday, labelling it “offensive”.
Reacting to the ban in an Instagram publish on Thursday night, Abdulkareem described the Nigerian authorities’s actions as an try to silence the reality and suppress criticism.
Whereas likening the ban to the 2004 censorship of his iconic protest tune Jaga Jaga, the outspoken singer accused President Tinubu’s administration of being “insensitive and vindictive.”
Sharing the NBC memo relating to his tune, he wrote: “It’s apparent that in Nigeria, fact and constructive criticism is all the time deemed an enormous crime by the federal government.
“President Bola Tinubu-led authorities is now occurring document as one of the insensitive, vindictive and grossly maleficent administration that has ever presided over the affairs of Nigeria.
“They’re instructing broadcast homes to protect the federal government by hiding the candle underneath the desk. Anybody surprise why Nigeria has not made impactful strides all these years? The conscience is an open wound, solely the reality can heal it.”
