We’re sorry – Nigerian govt apologizes over errors in federal appointments checklist


The Presidency has apologised for the errors within the checklist of appointments which they launched, in a bid to counter the narrative about President Bola Tinubu’s lopsided appointments.

Tinubu has been accused in sure quarters of favouring folks from his tribe.

In an interview with Come up TV, Senator Ali Ndume, an APC lawmaker representing Borno South, accused the President of violating the federal character precept in his appointments.

Ndume made it clear that as a lawmaker, he has the best to criticize Tinubu, regardless that they belong to the ruling occasion.

To counter the allegation, the Presidency launched a listing of President Tinubu’s appointees and their geo-political zones.

The checklist confirmed that Tinubu had appointed 29 folks from the South West, his house area, 35 from the North West, 22 from the South-South, 16 from the South East, 25 from North Central and 24 from the North East.

Nevertheless, critics have identified that the checklist doesn’t included the identify of a significant appointee from Tinubu’s house area was lacking.

The omission of Tinubu’s Chief of Employees, Femi Gbajabiamila, from the checklist additional strengthened the regional imbalance narrative towards President Tinubu’s administration.

However the Particular Adviser, Media & Public Communication/Spokesperson to the President, Sunday Dare, has tendered an apology for the errors within the checklist.
