President Bola Tinubu has responded to the loss of life of former Tremendous Eagles coach Christian Chukwu.
Will probably be recalled that Chukwu handed away on Saturday morning on the age of 74.
The previous footballer has left a void within the hearts of many soccer fanatics.
In his response, Tinubu, in an announcement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, joined the soccer neighborhood in mourning Chukwu’s passing.
He said that Chukwu introduced pleasure to tens of millions of Nigerians and stood as a pillar of the Nigerian model.
“Christian Chukwu was greater than a footballer and coach. He was an emblem of excellence and patriotism,” the assertion partly learn.
“He introduced pleasure to tens of millions, mentored a era of footballers, and stood as a pillar of Nigerian model and sportsmanship on and off the pitch.
“His legacies will proceed to dwell on within the trophies he received, the lives he touched.”
Chukwu captained the Tremendous Eagles to Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON glory on house soil in 1980.
