A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Get together, PDP and member of the occasion’s Board of Trustees, Bode George, has mentioned that Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria’s former Vice President, can’t be the opposition occasion’s presidential candidate in 2027.
He disclosed this in an interview on Politics At this time, a programme on Channels Tv, on Monday.
In line with him, it’s in opposition to the PDP’s inside zoning coverage for a northern candidate to emerge from the occasion in 2027.
“Atiku can’t be the PDP presidential candidate in 2027. Our inside zoning coverage makes it obligatory to be eight years for the South and North. If Atiku emerges because the PDP candidate in 2027 by any means, the occasion will collapse,” he acknowledged.
His remarks come because the PDP Governors’ Discussion board on Monday rejected the Atiku-led opposition coalition forward of the 2027 election.
Atiku was PDP’s presidential candidate within the 2023 election, which was gained by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Prior to now week, Atiku, Peter Obi, and the previous governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, unveiled a coalition aimed toward unseating Tinubu in 2027.
