A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Occasion, PDP, Daboikiabo Warmate, has strongly criticized the PDP Governors’ Discussion board for endorsing Sunday Udey-Okoye because the get together’s nationwide secretary, describing the transfer as unconstitutional and a “coup” in opposition to the get together’s membership.

He argued that solely the get together’s Nationwide Conference has the authority to nominate or take away nationwide officers and accused the governors’ discussion board of overstepping its constitutional boundaries.
“The PDP Governors’ Discussion board has usurped the duties of the Nationwide Working Committee, the Nationwide Government Committee, and the conference. They lack the constitutional energy to impose such a call,” he acknowledged.
Warmate additionally alleged that the discussion board’s determination was politically motivated, pushed by unresolved points with the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike.
“I urge the governors’ discussion board to resolve their private rift with Wike and never compound points by meddling with the place of the nationwide secretary,” he stated.
He warned that the transfer might have dire penalties for the get together’s unity and electoral prospects. “The Gov. Bala Mohammed-led discussion board should take full duty if the get together fails to fulfill the expectations of Nigerians,” Warmate added.
