Dillon Tatum, Michigan State DB, enters switch portal

Michigan State soccer might lose a key veteran in its secondary.

Defensive again Dillon Tatum introduced Monday morning on X, previously Twitter, that he has entered the switch portal with two years of eligibility remaining, a blow for the Spartans two days after they accomplished spring follow.

A four-star recruit in MSU’s 2022 class, Tatum suffered a lower-body damage within the 2024 season opener towards Florida Atlantic. The 5-foot-11, 197-pound former West Bloomfield star chased down Owls working again Zuberi Mobley to the MSU sideline, receiving a 15-yard penalty for a horse-collar deal with as the 2 gamers tumbled out of bounds. Tatum completed the sport with three tackles and sat out the remainder of the 12 months, taking a medical redshirt.

Tatum has expertise at each security spots, cornerback and nickelback and began 9 video games his first two seasons with the Spartans. He led MSU with seven pass-breakups and added 45 tackles in 2023.

Gamers who enter the switch portal can return to their authentic. The spring portal window closes Friday.
