2027: Delta cannot work in opposition to Tinubu – Oborevwori speaks after formally becoming a member of APC

Following his defection to the All Progressives Congress, APC, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State has vowed to work for President Bola Tinubu’s reelection in 2027.

Oborevwori stated it’s time for Delta State to hitch the ruling social gathering as a result of it has been within the opposition for the previous 10 years.

Talking in Asaba on Monday at a rally organised to welcome him and different defectors into the social gathering, Oborevwori stated Delta State can’t afford to work in opposition to Tinubu.

On April 23, Oborevwori and former Peoples Democratic Social gathering, PDP, presidential working mate, Ifeanyi Okowa had defected to APC.

Talking on the rally in Asaba on Monday, Oborevwori introduced a mass defection of political figures from PDP to APC within the state.

He stated, “Delta can’t carry final. Now we have been in opposition for nearly ten years. Mr President has supported us, he has proven us love.

“We can’t face him in 2027 to work in opposition to him. That love that he has proven us in Delta state, we have to reciprocate it.

“We can’t do it in our outdated social gathering, you need to be inside to do it and to do it properly.”
