The Nigeria Navy mentioned its personnel has clamped down on oil thieves at a number of places throughout the Niger Delta area.

Commodore A Adams -Aliu, Director of Info, in an announcement mentioned the clamp down was made attainable via a collection of simultaneous operations carried out from 20–22 April 2025, underneath the auspices of the Nigerian Navy’s Operation DELTA SANITY, naval models in Bayelsa, Delta and Imo States.

It mentioned on Sunday 20 April 2025, the Nigerian Navy Ship, SOROH apprehended 4 suspected pipeline vandals with instruments used for vandalising pipelines round Renaissance Africa Power Coy Pipeline at River-Kolo Creek, Bayelsa State.

Additionally, on Monday, 21 April 2025, Ahead Working Base ESCRAVOS found and deactivated 2 unlawful refinery websites with 2 refining ovens and 10 dugout pits laden with massive quantities of stolen crude oil in Oteghele, Obodo Omadino Group, Warri South-West LGA, Delta State.

“On Monday 21 April 2025, Nigerian Navy Ship SOROH intercepted and impounded 2 autos laden with a number of sacks of illegally refined merchandise in Olodo Group, Bayelsa State.

“On Tuesday 22 April 2025, Naval Outpost ONITSHA apprehended 2 suspects with a regionally made rifle and 10 machetes. The suspects have been within the strategy of attacking SEEPCO oil facility in Oguikpele Group, Ogbaru LGA, Anambra State. Investigation revealed that these suspects have been allegedly concerned within the assault and killing of three troopers on 11 June 2024.” It additional added

In response to the assertion, on Tuesday 22 April 2025, Nigerian Navy Ship DELTA found and deactivated 2 unlawful refinery websites with 9 dugout pits, a number of sacks and drums laden with massive quantities of illegally refined AGO and stolen Crude Oil in Bernnet Island and Obodo Omadino Group, Warri SouthWest LGA, Delta State.

” Within the 3-day co-ordinated anti-crude oil theft operations, a complete of 6 suspects have been arrested whereas 4 Unlawful Refinery Websites and 9 dug out pits have been deactivated and autos have been seized. These operations underscores the Nigerian Navy’s resolve to rid the maritime area of crude oil thieves and different nefarious components as directed by the Chief of Naval Employees, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla,” the assertion mentioned.
