The Nigerian authorities has defined that the self-acclaimed Prime Minister of Biafra, Simon Ekpa, will likely be extradited from Finland to Nigeria on the proper time.
The Legal professional Basic of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi, mentioned Ekpa is at the moment being investigated by the Finnish authorities for terrorism, after which he can be extradited to Nigeria.
Fagbemi disclosed this throughout a particular occasion on Thursday in Abuja whereas giving an replace on strikes by the Nigerian authorities to extradite Ekpa.
He mentioned Nigeria is already working with Finnish authorities to convey him again for trial.
“He dedicated an offence in opposition to the Finnish authorities in addition to in Nigeria. His extradition will come on the proper time,” Fagbemi said.
Ekpa has been linked to the actions of unknown gunmen within the Southeast, hiding underneath the detention of Nnamdi Kanu, chief of the Indigenous Folks of Biafra, to wreak havoc within the area.
In November 2024, Ekpa was arrested in Finland together with 4 others, who have been later launched.
His case is now with Finland’s Deputy Prosecutor Basic, who will determine if fees will likely be filed in opposition to him there.
