Troops of Sector 3, Multinational Joint Activity Pressure (MNJTF) below Operation Hadin Kai have neutralised a suspected informant linked to the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) within the early hours of Friday.
The operation, performed as a part of the continued Operation Desert Sanity IV, befell within the Karagawaru space of Kaga Native Authorities Space, Borno State.
In accordance with army sources, the ambush was carried out by the 29 Activity Pressure Brigade.
Performing on credible intelligence, the troops strategically positioned themselves at a suspected crossing level.
At roughly 12:30 a.m., they noticed and engaged the suspect, believed to be gathering intelligence for Boko Haram and its ISWAP faction.
Throughout the confrontation, the suspect was neutralised. Troops recovered a regionally fabricated Dane gun and a bicycle believed to have been utilized by the informant for motion and surveillance actions.
The troopers returned safely to their base at round 3:40 a.m. with no casualties reported, marking one other tactical success within the battle towards insurgency within the area.
