The Kano State Police Command has rescued a 75-year-old kidnapped sufferer, Abdulrahman Yunusa, and arrested one suspect.
In response to an announcement by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the sufferer, a local of Maigana in Soba Native Authorities Space of Kaduna State, was kidnapped from his residence on Might 3, 2025, whereas his captors demanded a ransom of ₦20 million.
It stated the rescue was achieved following a raid on a prison hideout in Bagau City, Bebeji Native Authorities Space.
The assertion stated the operation was performed by the Command’s Anti-Kidnapping Squad based mostly on “foolproof intelligence.”
“Through the raid on Might 9, 2025, one Musa Tukur, a 23-year-old male from Kudan Native Authorities Space of Kaduna State, was arrested whereas guarding the kidnapped sufferer within the hideout.
“The sufferer was discovered together with his eyes coated with cloth and a few physique elements tied with rope,” he added.
The police took the sufferer to a hospital, the place he obtained remedy and was later discharged. He has since been reunited together with his household.
