Doctor Who’s David Tennant Wanted to Play Fantastic Four’s Reed Richards

After taking part in a villain in Jessica Jones, David Tennant had his eyes on taking part in a superhero if he entered the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In Netflix’s Jessica Jones, Tennant starred as Kevin Thompson/Kilgrave, a person with the flexibility to regulate minds. Kilgrave induced Jessica to kill somebody, which led her to desert her superhero profession to work as a non-public detective.
While talking at MCM Comic Con in London, a fan requested Tennant about his choice for taking part in a supervillain or superhero. Tennant famous that he “got the best one” by taking part in Kilgrave, which “worked out quite nicely.”
Why did David Tennant wish to play one other MCU function?
If Tennant switched sides and performed the great man, he says he initially needed to hitch Marvel’s First Family.
“In terms of superheroes, I did slightly have my eye on Reed Richards,” Tennant mentioned.
Unfortunately, Marvel went in a “different direction” and solid Pedro Pascal to play Richards in The Fantastic Four: First Steps.
“If it has to be someone, I’m very happy for it to be Pedro Pascal, frankly,” Tennant defined. However, he nonetheless “would’ve liked to be Reed Richards.”
“I’d quite like to be able to do all that,” he added. “Even though it’s going to be a while before there’s another go at that, unfortunately.”
Pascal and the remainder of the Fantastic Four will probably be integral members of the MCU’s future. Tennant’s instincts are proper when he says it is going to be a very long time earlier than one other actor performs Reed Richards.
The Multiverse Saga confirmed that Marvel permits a number of actors to play the identical character. For instance, John Krasinski performed Reed Richards in Doctor Strange within the Multiverse of Madness. All three Spider-Men — Tom Holland, Andrew Garfield, and Tobey Maguire — performed their model of Peter Parker in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Could Tennant play a special model of Reed Richards? It’s potential, however unlikely.
For now, Tennant is joyful for Pascal to get a crack on the character.
“He’s Mister Fantastic, in every sense of the word,” Tennant defined. “I think Pedro Pascal is great. I’m very, very pleased that he exists.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps opens in theaters on July 25, 2025.
